Catching up with some old friends.

Once again I have been lax with updating my blog .
My excuse this time, I have been sucked once again into the gaming world.
My life is full of phases, I have phases where I read non stop for a few weeks. I have phases where I get caught up in TV for a while ( last phase Americas next top model marathon). This time my phase is retro gaming.

Yes I have re-visited with my old pals from the world of the super Nintendo. Namely Link and Mario.
I was hooked! Link is possibly the only guy I would consider leaving my husband for (heh). I know he's a bit young but he is sooo pretty...
Seems I am not the only one who thinks so, whilst looking online I came across an article that said this:
All the straight women were already swooning over Link's good looks in his upcoming game:The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Heck, I've even heard straight guys call him cool, awesome, and some closet cases say he's hot! And now gay and lesbian culture magazine "Out" labelled Link as sexy in their June issue, featuring Link as the Hottest Video Game Character in its "What's Hot Now". They reference the Twilight Princess as:

"When darkness enshrouds the land, Nintendo's sexy farm boy turned wolf sets out to save the day in this upcoming game. His weapons: a sword, a bow, arrows, and kick-ass grooming skills."
Gotta love Link. Of course there is no way in hell Mario would fit into the "hot" category I just play that for entertainment vale. Honest. Although Yoshi is a cutie.....

Other news : Not much, bought a book off e-bay and got ripped off. I have been itching to get my hands on the latest Jilly Cooper book Wicked. so once in a while I take a look on e-bay, I spotted a few one in Australia (paperback) which I missed. There were 2 in the UK both hardback , one got snapped up with the "buy it now" option, the other had no postage listed to the US. I contacted the seller , who wasn't very helpful at all, she replied" I would have to take it to the post office to find that out but it would be expensive because its so heavy"
Ok fine well could you please get off your arse and find out for me ? <- No I didn't say that , but I wanted too. In the meantime my darling WP decided to bid on it for me thinking he was doing something nice. which he was but had I known I would have told him not to on principle, I could have looked again. So he puts an up to $10 top bid on the said book. I then notice that she doesn't take pay pal, only personal cheques and money orders ( WTH! Then why have in your listing that you will ship worldwide ?)
So I contact her again apologising and asking if she would withdraw the bid. No answer. Great. other bids have now pushed our bid up more, the auction ended the next night, still no reply from seller. we won it at 7.51 pounds ( around $14). Thats not a bad price its a new book but now I am worrying about the cost of postage....
Still no word from her other then an invoice of 17.51 pounds (around $34) Dam. the postage is more then the price of the book.
I mailed off the cheque ( written in dollars) to her yesterday.

Moral of the story...check that people overseas accept pay pal before committing to buying anything.

Of course I am looking forward to getting the book but I am pissed that WP had to pay so much for it.

I have misplaced my mojo....

...and become a TV addict.

I have looked everywhere, behind the sofa, in the fridge, even under the bed.
Its around here somewhere I am sure....

Last week saw me mindlessly staring at VH1's Americas next top model marathon, all 7 seasons, no I did not watch every one but I sat and watched a pretty good chunk of it.
Even worse I enjoyed it!

Onto my next TV discovery...Survivorman, gosh he is kinda cute in a rugged unwashed sort of way. He has a nice voice too, still sounds American to me (he's Canadian) but Canadians will always sound American to me, get over it.
Basically he is left in random places around the globe with to quote:"No food, no shelter, no fresh water, no tools... no camera crew. One man - alone in the wild for seven days with only his wits and stamina to sustain him."

Go Les!

Other then that my week has been pretty uneventful, a trip to Walmart, stocked up on some Hanes underwear, scoop back Bikini style to be precise, a Chinese take-a-way, looked after the kids upstairs which involved the little girl & I pretending to be on test drives for fancy cars whilst the boy drove them around on the X-box game. She had her checklist which we had to agree on colour (the most important thing when buying a car I find), bumpyness and if it couldn't make over 110MPH we were not interested.
We then had to buy said car with a home made check made out to "Mr car dealer" I think we bought a tricked out Ford F150 in violet for the bargain price of $1400, a steal or what!
Of course in the interests of safety we wore seatbelt s (which were in fact Brats sleeping bags) Safety first folks!

That is my week more or less and today is laundry day - Oh joy.

I will look far & wide for my lost Mojo and make a real effort this week to get it back and visit everyone.
Promise.
