Well I cant say I didn't think this day would come , but still you could have knocked me down with a feather when WP told me that Paul & Goldigger* sorry Heather have split.

"Separation for any couple is difficult enough, but to have to go through this so publicly, especially with a small daughter, is immensely stressful.

"We hope, for the sake of our baby daughter, that we will be given some space and time to get through this difficult period."

I don't see how he can blame the press for this one although I no longer read the British press daily as far as I am aware they were not particularly being hounded in anyway.
In fact the last I read about her she was in the news for her work with PETA.

Of course there was much talk and slander done by the press when they anounced their plans to marry. McCartney is seen somewhat as a national institution in the UK. When it emerged that only a year after Lindas death he was to marry an Ex "model" 25 years his junior of course there were some raised eyebrows. The news that his grown up kids all disliked her only added fuel to the fire, as did his sudden need to dye his hair jet black and acting younger. One member of the press said that McCartney , once so dignified with Linda would now "turn up to the opening of an envelope"
Then of course there was the news that he had refused to put a pre-nup in place stating that they" we too in love to think about it'.
My how that will now come to bite him on the ass.

WHEN Paul McCartney wed Heather Mills in 2002 he decided against a prenuptial deal to keep his £825million fortune.

The couple said they were "too in love" to think about it.

But if they eventually divorce, Lady McCartney could walk away £200million richer.

Heather would not be entitled to any of his money from the Beatles and Wings but she could cash in on his income during their time together.
